St. Finbarr's Hospital
St. Finbarr’s Hospital required the replacement of a critical Main Distribution Board serving key hospital services across the campus. The project also included the installation of new sub-main distribution supplies serving multiple buildings, providing increased capacity, improved reliability and future flexibility for the hospital’s electrical infrastructure. Months of planning, design development and stakeholder engagement were undertaken with HSE Estates, hospital management and end users.
DOR Group Electrical Services delivered the complete replacement of the existing Main Distribution Board together with the installation of new sub-main supplies serving multiple buildings throughout the hospital campus. The works included extensive civil engineering activities, installation of new cable routes, containment systems, sub-main cables and associated infrastructure upgrades. DOR Group also fulfilled the role of Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP), coordinating the design process and managing multiple contractors operating under our scope.
A temporary power solution comprising multiple generators was designed and implemented to facilitate the works. Carefully planned and coordinated changeovers were undertaken to transfer various hospital buildings and services between ESB supply and temporary generation while the existing infrastructure was removed and replaced.
